INSTRUCTIONS for SCHOOL EXAMS

If there is anything you don’t understand, then please see your HoY at any time to discuss any problems.

• NO CELL PHONES ARE ALLOWED IN THE EXAMINATION ROOM (EVEN IF THEY ARE SWITCHED OFF)

• At 7am you will register with your tutors as normal and head to your first exam (or revision room) when the bell rings.

• If for any reason you are unable to get to an exam, you must immediately contact Marielos Soto either by phone (2241-4473) or email, your Head of Year AND Mr Keslake

• Your tutors will tell you the rooms for your exams each morning (Auditorium except Music (PAC) and Art (art rooms).

• Food and drink is not permitted in the exam room but you may have a clear water container.

• NO talking is allowed from when you enter the room to when you are outside again after the exam. Often papers will already be on your tables when you enter. Do NOT open papers or turn them over until instructed to do so.

• If you are late, you will be allowed to sit the examination but will not be allowed additional time except in very special circumstances. No student may leave early. Remain in your seat until all papers have been collected and the invigilator dismisses you.

• Between examinations, please be careful not to disturb other students taking normal lessons.


• Bring the following items to each examination:
Blue or black pens (more than one), Pencil, Ruler, Eraser, Approved calculator (if allowed), Geometry set, highlighter pens. You may NOT borrow any items from other candidates during the exam. These items must be in a clear plastic or see-through container (like a Ziploc bag). YOU CANNOT USE YOUR NORMAL PENCIL CASE UNLESS IT IS COMPLETELY SEE-THROUGH!


• Although there will be a clock in the rooms it is advisable you have your own watch or clock.

• You must use blue or black pen and not a pencil except for graphs and diagrams. You are not allowed to write in red (reserved for the examiners) but may use coloured pencils for diagrams or highlighting

• You may not use liquid paper. Cross out neatly any work you do not want the examiner to mark.

• Write your name on each piece of answer paper. READ instructions about the exam paper before starting the exams.

• You are not allowed to ask any questions about the exam content unless you cannot read something on the paper. Always check papers and if you think a page may be missing ask an invigilator to check.


• If your exam is in the auditorium please line up quietly in tutor groups in the cafeteria area.

• If your exam is in a classroom please line up quietly outside the room.

• Your Music Exams will be in PAC. Please line up by the lockers and along the science corridor starting with 7A.
